Bella

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 3 months

Bella is a six-year-old, spayed female dog with an enormous heart for people. She loves spending time with her two-legged companions and thoroughly enjoys every bit of attention she can get. She also adores children and interacts with them in a friendly and open manner. Bella is a little whirlwind whose cheerful and lively nature enriches each day. She’s curious, alert, and always eager to be right in the middle of things. In general, she gets along well with other dogs, though sometimes she can be a bit boisterous and pushy. For this reason, she still needs some guidance and the necessary calmness from her human companion. Bella also has a little talent for climbing. A securely fenced garden is therefore especially important, as she can be quite resourceful once she’s discovered something exciting. Her future family should therefore pay close attention and provide her with the necessary safety and clear boundaries. Bella has Addison’s disease, but she’s very well adjusted to her medication and leads a completely normal and happy dog life as a result. She takes one tablet each morning and evening and needs to visit the vet for a blood test and injection roughly every two to three months. She handles all of this calmly and without any fuss. Ongoing vet and medication costs amount to about 40 to 50 euros per month. Bella is people-oriented, cuddly, and loves spending time with her humans. She still has a lot to learn and needs loving yet consistent training. With the right guidance, she’ll become a loyal and joyful companion for her family. We’re looking for people who, with patience, love, and a safe home, will show Bella the beautiful sides of life. She has so much love to give and is waiting eagerly to finally find her forever home. Addison’s disease (well-managed): One tablet each morning and evening; vet visits every 2–3 months for blood tests and injections; vet costs approximately €40–50 per month. Very people- and child-friendly; friendly toward other dogs, though sometimes a bit pushy. Cheerful little whirlwind; still needs training; loves to climb—so a securely fenced garden would be ideal. We’re urgently seeking a foster or permanent home for Bella! Contact: 0176 / 788 69 015

DE·Show original

About Bella

What life with Bella looks like

Bella is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierfreunde Lüdinghausen und Umgebung e. V. in Senden.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bella, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bella?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierfreunde Lüdinghausen und Umgebung e. V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bella on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bella if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierfreunde Lüdinghausen und Umgebung e. V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bella already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bella isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierfreunde Lüdinghausen und Umgebung e. V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bella and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
