Bella (vermittelt)

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 4 months

Regarding the ages given here, they are often estimated values as we do not always know the exact age. Other information, such as size, is subjective. Bella was born in August 2017, is female, and is a mixed breed. Size will probably be rather large. Foster home. Bella had particularly good luck and found a wonderful new home in record time. We wish the sweet mouse and her new pack a wonderful, exciting, and above all worry-free time together. Bella, the shy little creature, has become a lively young lady in her new home. Billy and Bella are two Greek puppies (likely siblings), around 4 months old and about 5 kilos. Their story is like many dogs’… An animal rescuer on the island of Santorin was approached by an older man who had seen two puppies without a mother on an abandoned property. Such “things” happen daily… There were indeed two frightened, anxious puppy children on that property, which were thankfully quickly captured. Now they live in a pack of 10 puppies (all of which came in this way) and have begun to trust humans. A local friend organization, which is active on site, has asked for our help as they cannot afford to house so many puppies. We would like to support here… but need people who can imagine giving a young puppy life security and the necessary attention to become happy and joyful dogs. Bella (the lighter female puppy) and Billy (the darker male dog) are ready for travel from the beginning of January. We urgently need a foster home or a home for the two to be able to take them into Germany as quickly as possible. For interest, please fill out a referral request on our homepage!!! We would be very happy if we could help the two to a happy ending. Here are a few pictures. To enlarge, please click on an image.

About Bella (vermittelt)

What life with Bella (vermittelt) looks like

Bella (vermittelt) is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. in Zornheim.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bella (vermittelt), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bella (vermittelt)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bella (vermittelt) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bella (vermittelt) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bella (vermittelt) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bella (vermittelt) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bella (vermittelt) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
