Belle

Staffordshire Bull Terrier · Female · Adult · 5 years

Belle is a gorgeous girl who is full of love! She is a happy-go-lucky girly with a real zest for life, loving her playtimes, walks and time spent with her favourite people. Belle is looking for a moderately active home that can take her for fun adventures, but she is just as happy to snuggle up on the sofa at the end of a fun day. Belle will need her time alone to be built up slowly, as she can find change quite scary and can be quite sensitive. She is a wonderful girl and will make a wonderful addition to the home. Meet gorgeous girl, Belle! Belle is a 5.5-year old Staffy looking for her forever home. Belle is a very sweet, cuddly girl who loves meeting new people! She may be happy to live with a calm dog, as she's not too fussed on intense dogs that won't give her space! Belle would prefer for any children in the home to be of secondary school age and above as she can be a little worried meeting new people and may need a slower approach, but adores her people once bonded and will want to be fussed forever and ever! Belle loves to play with her toys - a ball being her favourite! She is fully house-trained and loves spending time with her people. Belle will need owners that are around for most of the day at first to help build her time alone up slowly, as she does struggle being left on her own. Belle loves to get out for walks, getting all the lovely sniffs in! She can pull on lead at times, but is a big fan of treats so this will be easily remedied! Belle would prefer a quieter living environment, as she can find louder noises spooky and can be quite unsettled in new environments, so would love understanding, patient owners that can offer her some reassurance during this time. We can't wait to see her thriving in her forever home!

About Belle

What life with Belle looks like

Belle is a large adult staffordshire bull terrier dog waiting at Dogs Trust Cardiff in Cardiff.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Belle, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Belle?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Cardiff handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Belle on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Belle if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Cardiff will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Belle already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Belle isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Cardiff early rather than rehoming privately; they know Belle and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
