Benedictine

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 3 months

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Benedictine has found her home! Her story: Benedictine had a tough start in life. Together with her mother Amberly and eight siblings Lira, Sol, Knopf, Rocky, Mikado, Miro, Smyrna, and Kira, she was found homeless on the streets. Without help, the little family would have barely had a chance, but luckily they were rescued in time. Now, Benedictine can recover in a Romanian foster home and look forward to a proper home soon. At around 3 months old, her whole life lies ahead. Benedictine is an energetic, cheerful little puppy, who with her cute floppy ears, dark button eyes, and beautiful black-brown fur simply enchants everyone. Her gentle gaze and cute nature make her a truly bewitching mouse. Since Benedictine has only known life on the streets so far, the life of a house dog is still foreign to her. Neither house training nor leash manners are familiar to her yet. But with loving training, patience, and positive reinforcement, she will surely learn all of that quickly. In a few months, Benedictine will enter puberty – an exciting but also challenging phase where she might question some of what she has learned. But with consistent, but sensitive training and a understanding family by her side, she will master this time well and grow into a wonderful companion. Have you fallen in love with the cute Weplin? Then feel free to contact us! Who will give Benedictine a loving home where she can grow up protected? Even a foster home that eases her transition into life as a family dog would be a great help. A big thank you to Lana-Maria, who gave Benedictine her name and thus an identity. As of 06.04. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Dann melde dich gerne! Stand: 06.04.2025

About Benedictine

What life with Benedictine looks like

Benedictine is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Benedictine, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Benedictine?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Benedictine on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Benedictine if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Benedictine already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Benedictine isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Benedictine and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
