This is Benji, sweet as sugar and simply adorable…! At just three months old, measuring about 33 cm and weighing 6 kg, this little cutie is a real stunner. His short, white fur with distinct brown-black spots makes him simply irresistible. Benji is the epitome of a happy puppy: a bundle of energy, super playful, totally uncomplicated, and always ready for fun. He constantly seeks the company of humans, loves being cuddled, and is an absolute champion when it comes to playing. Although he is still closely bonded with his mother and siblings, he gets along well with children. Benji doesn’t know what a leash or a harness is – but don’t worry, he is incredibly eager to learn and totally food-motivated, making training a child’s play 😉! He was found with his siblings Jenni and Noah by the roadside and is now in safety at a foster home near Zalau. Now he is ready for his biggest adventure: his own home. Benji still has his puppyhood and adolescence ahead of him. During this time, Benji will test his limits and will need your consistent, but loving upbringing. It’s important to inform yourself about this phase and to patiently, lovingly, and positively accompany the young man through this exciting phase, as it is crucial for the development of his personality. Benji travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated, together with his EU pet passport, to his new family. After a positive But also a foster home would be a good start. Would you like to give this little treasure the life he deserves? Then sign up and Benji is about to embark on his big adventure! Thank you, Johanna F.! About Benji

What life with Benji looks like

Benji is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Benji, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Benji?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Benji on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Benji if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Benji already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Benji isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Benji and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
