While he was shy at the animal shelter, he quickly opened up with us and is an uncomplicated, wonderful dog. He likes both dogs and cats, is familiar with children, and always tries to do everything right. He loves treats. He currently weighs 10.5 kg, walks great on a leash, travels well in a car, and greets his people with an enchanting grin (a real smiley guy ;)). His small handicap does not bother him and has been checked out at the veterinary clinic. The Mediterranean check was negative. You can meet Benji in Düsseldorf if you like. March 2025: Benji is estimated to be 3-4 years old and about 45 cm tall, weighing around 14 kg. The first time he was noticed was about a year ago as a stray in a village on Corfu. Benji was with 2 other dogs on the street. The 3 were often on the main road and were beaten by people, and there were threats to poison the dogs. Fortunately, an animal lover took care of the 3 and was able to move Benji to the animal shelter. The other 2 dogs are now being cared for by a local family and no longer wander onto the main road. Benji has a small handicap with his right hind leg and limps sometimes, but according to the vet, he is not significantly impaired. He gets along very well with other dogs, and we think he would also get along with cats. With people, he is still a bit shy - who can blame him?!? He loves treats, and as they say, love goes through the stomach. He also greatly appreciated the soft dog bed in the quarantine station :). All the dogs are vaccinated, microchipped, and have an EU pet passport.

Im Tierheim schüchtern ist er bei uns schnell aufgetaut und ein unkomplizierter, toller Hund. Er mag Hunde und auch Katzen, kennt Kinder und versucht immer alles richtig zu machen, liebt Leckerchen. Er wiegt aktuell 10,5kg, geht super an der Leine, fährt toll im Auto mit und begrüßt seine Menschen mit einem bezaubernden Grinsen (Grinsemann ;)). Sein kleines Handycap stört ihn nicht und wurde in der Tierklinik abgeklärt. Der Mittelmeercheck war negativ.Gerne kann Benji in Düsseldorf kennengelernt werden. März 2025: Benji ist geschätzt 3-4 Jahre alt und ca. 45cm groß bei etwa 14kg Gewicht. Das erste Mal ist er vor etwa einem Jahr als Streuner in einem Dorf auf Korfu aufgefallen. Benji war mit 2 weiteren Hunden zusammen auf der Straße. Die 3 waren oft auf der Hauptstraße und wurden von Menschen geschlagen und es wurde gedroht die Hunde zu vergiften. Zum Glück hat sich eine Tierfreundin um die 3 gekümmert und konnte Benji ins Tierheim umsiedeln. Die anderen 2 Hunde werden nun vor Ort von einer Familie versorgt und wandern nicht mehr auf die Hauptstraße.Benji hat ein kleines Handycap am rechten Hinterbein und humpelt manchmal, laut Tierarzt hat er aber soweit keine sonderliche Beeinträchtigung. Mit anderen Hunden kommt Benji bestens aus und wir denken, dass er auch mit Katzen zurecht kommt. Bei uns Menschen ist er noch etwas schüchtern - wer kann ihm das verübeln?!? Er liebt aber Leckerchen und Liebe geht ja bekanntlich durch den Magen.
