Beyli &#8211

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Senior · 18 years

Beyli was sold by an Internet Elite Organization that sells puppies to Switzerland, Germany, and Austria, even delivering them to the doorstep, to two young and inexperienced 18-year-old teenagers. He is supposed to have originally come from Slovakia and was sold as a Mini-Bullterrier without papers. The only few-week-old Beyli was handed over to the two young people at the train station in the evening, and only an hour and a half later, we received a call that the dog had to be taken back—they had not shown him to them in that way. He does not yet follow, does not yet run on the leash, cannot do anything else, and is also not house-trained. The little one is only a few weeks old, mind you. The loving and friendly Beyli had anything but an ideal start in life. He needs people who are experienced with his breed and know about it. Since he is actually a purebred Bullterrier and does not have papers, he can only be rehomed in a canton that does not require an approval. Therefore, Basel-Stadt, Basel-Land, and Solothurn are excluded. Additionally, he needs people who can show him understanding and patience and help make up for his bumpy start in life with good, loving, and positive experiences. Because he is still very young, he must not only learn dog ABCs but also attend dog training classes. Beyli will be vaccinated, microchipped, and rehomed. If you are interested in our dogs and would like to meet them without obligation, apply with the button below, and we will get in touch with you as soon as possible. We thank you for your understanding if the processing of your request takes a little longer. We will do our best to give you a response as soon as possible. However, it may happen that many requests come in at the same time or that our resources are temporarily urgently needed elsewhere.

DE·Show original

About Beyli &#8211

What life with Beyli &#8211 looks like

Beyli &#8211 is a small senior mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzbund Basel Regional.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Beyli &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Beyli &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzbund Basel Regional handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Beyli &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Beyli &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzbund Basel Regional will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Beyli &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Beyli &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzbund Basel Regional early rather than rehoming privately; they know Beyli &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
