Bianchino

Unknown · Adult · 4 years

February 2026 Bianchino arrived in November 2025 at a loving and experienced foster home in Königswinter and there met tomcat Carlo, whose brother Carmelo had been rehomed shortly before. Carlo needs other cats as much as he needs air to breathe, and so we were very happy that Bianchino would now be able to keep him company. The plan worked out; the two tomcats understood each other from the very first moment and became best buddies. Bianchino has his own special way of allowing friendships. At first, he keeps a little distance, but playing together is great, and he also loves playful ruff sessions. Once the ice is broken, he cuddles and grooms his beloved fellow animals, but then it's time to back off. He can't handle too much closeness for very long. In December, the young tomcat Suri unexpectedly joined the cat household. Bianchino and Carlo managed Suri's initial insecurity well and soon became friends with him. The two love to run and play one after the other, and grooming has now become a regular activity. Bianchino is also friendly and unobtrusive with people, he likes to purr, but he's also quite clear about when he's had enough. He has interest and no fear of household appliances like vacuum cleaners or paper shredders; everything is observed with interest and without fear. Bianchino "studies" such otherwise unpleasant situations for cats and then deems them safe for him. Similarly, he also tries to read the people around him and observes his foster mom intensely. One should also be able to "read" Bianchino so that one understands when enough contact is enough for him. He doesn't like being lifted or carried around. We therefore do not consider him an ideal cat for beginners. The four-year-old Bianchino, who is already in the L.I.D.A.

About Bianchino

What life with Bianchino looks like

Bianchino is a adult cat waiting at PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bianchino, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bianchino?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bianchino on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bianchino if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bianchino already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bianchino isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bianchino and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
