Adopt Biggy

Rottweiler · Male · Puppy · 10 months

Biggy is a young 8-month-old rottweiler who was taken in following his owner's move. Unfortunately, his new residence no longer provided enough space to meet his needs. Despite his young age, Biggy already demonstrates a balanced temperament, combining calmness and energy. He enjoys downtime but remains a dynamic, playful, and very human-friendly young dog. He loves interactions, seeks company, and takes great pleasure in sharing playtime with those around him. Regarding his interactions, Biggy seems well-adjusted. He has already interacted with other dogs, particularly in dog parks, and these interactions have always gone well. As for cats, he shows a fair amount of respect: when he encounters them on walks, he does not chase them. He also gets along well with children, making him a family-friendly companion. Biggy is already familiar with city walks, an environment he particularly enjoys and seems to manage with ease. He is clean and knows how to be alone for short periods. Like many young dogs, however, some training will need to be relearned from the basics to give him a clear and consistent framework in his future family. A particular point of attention will also be his loneliness: while Biggy knows how to be alone, when the absence feels too long, he may tend to rummage through garbage or destroy what he finds to keep himself occupied. Therefore, it will be important to offer him appropriate activities, such as chew toys or enrichment games, to make these moments more serene.

Read original (fr)

About Biggy

What life with Biggy looks like

Biggy is a puppy/kitten rottweiler dog waiting at Perwez) in Sans Collier.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Frequently asked

Adopting Biggy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Biggy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Perwez) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Biggy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Biggy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Perwez) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Biggy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Biggy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Perwez) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Biggy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
