Adopt Nami

Rottweiler · Female · Young · 1 year

Nami arrived at the our shelter due to a lack of time from her owners, who could no longer properly meet her needs or accompany her in managing her emotions. Still very young, this one-year-old Rottweiler is full of energy and goodwill but requires an adapted framework today to fully flourish. Nami is a lively dog, very playful, and particularly in need of attention. She loves interacting with humans and can sometimes be a bit overbearing in her expressions of joy. In excitement, she tends to jump on faces. It was indeed during play that she bit a three-year-old girl on the face, without aggressive intent but due to a lack of control over her emotions and behaviors. Daily, Nami will therefore need a home that can offer her a clear, consistent, and structured framework. Her future adopters must be ready to take over her education as if she were a young puppy, to reteach her the right life codes and allow her to develop more self-control. The establishment of stable and well-defined rules will be essential to help her find balance. Regarding walks, Nami loves going on adventures. The first few minutes can be a bit energetic, as she tends to pull on the leash due to excitement, but once her enthusiasm subsides, she is capable of enjoying her walks more calmly. Nami is also a very attached dog to her human references. This closeness can sometimes translate into possessive behaviors towards the people she is particularly attached to. She also struggles with loneliness. When she finds herself alone for too long or without the appropriate accompaniment during this learning process, it can lead to destructive behaviors within the home, particularly on furniture.

About Nami

What life with Nami looks like

Nami is a young adult rottweiler dog waiting at Perwez) in Sans Collier.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nami, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nami?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Perwez) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nami on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nami if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Perwez) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nami already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nami isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Perwez) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nami and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
