Adopt Aslan

Rottweiler · Male · Adult · 4 years

Aslan and Bella arrived at the shelter together. They belonged to the children of the family, who recently left the house to live on their own and are unfortunately unable to retrieve the dogs. Their mother, who had been taking care of them until now, no longer feels capable of handling them. Aslan is a playful dog, very close to humans and full of life. He especially loves playing with a ball! He turns out to be a real clingy one, very attached to his humans, and could sometimes be a bit jealous when attention was given to Bella. Used to living in an outdoor kennel, Aslan only destroyed his toys. However, life in a house is different, and the management of solitude and learning daily routines indoors will need to be worked on gradually. Regarding walks, Aslan occasionally went for walks, he likes to take time to explore his environment but still has some strength. He can be reactive to certain stimuli. In the past, he reacted notably to farm animals, such as goats. At the shelter, he can also react to other animals of the same species or to cars. Nevertheless, he already shows good learning abilities: simply allowing him to calmly observe his environment helps him a lot, and with work, he could progress quickly. Therefore, he will need time, patience, and kindness to work on managing his emotions. Aslan knows some basic training, but it was learned in Turkish. Therefore, his future adopters will need to be patient and consistent to continue his education and teach him new references.

About Aslan

What life with Aslan looks like

Aslan is a adult rottweiler dog waiting at Perwez) in Sans Collier.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Frequently asked

Adopting Aslan, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Aslan?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Perwez) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Aslan on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Aslan if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Perwez) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Aslan already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Aslan isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Perwez) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Aslan and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
