Billie

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal!Billie – happier than ever… because she has found her home! Her story: Billie is just two months old, weighs around 2 kg, and will stay small. With her fluffy fur and her calm, dark gaze, she immediately wins a little bit of "Ocean Eyes" feeling. She is friendly, gentle, and incredibly clingy. She loves people very much, especially children. While she is more sensitive than wild, she gets along well with other dogs and cats as well. Even though Billie stays small, one should not underestimate her. Just like larger dogs, small dogs also need consistent training, clear rules, and time. Behind this sweet face lies not only a puppy but also responsibility. Her new family should be aware that Billie has not yet experienced life in a loving family. She must learn the complete puppy ABC and puberty is still ahead of her. During this time, she needs people who can be patient, loving, and clear, forgive her small mistakes, and guide her through life. A visit to a positively working dog training class would definitely be worthwhile. Leash walking, house training, and being alone are still new to her. During puberty, she will test boundaries and may even forget what she has learned. But with the right guidance and a bit of perseverance, Billie will develop into a wonderful companion. Billie does not seek a perfect family, but the right one: people with heart, intelligence, and the willingness to guide her into a loving life. She travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated with an EU pet passport and can be adopted after a positive assessment. A foster home is also possible. Billie seeks people who are ready to go this journey with her. Do you want to show Billie what a real home feels like? A big thank you to Elena for naming Billie.

About Billie

What life with Billie looks like

Billie is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Billie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Billie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Billie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Billie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Billie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Billie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Billie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
