Adopt Billy Buttons

Staffordshire Bull Terrier · Male · Puppy

Support and Health How much training will I need? Needs ongoing support Can I be left alone? Yes Billy is still a young boy and will need owners who are around for the majority of the day whilst his puppy training is worked on. After a settling in period any home alone training should be worked on at his pace and he has the potential to do a few hours. Do I have any medical conditions? Existing conditions Billy Buttons has a full bill of health and can be fully insured. Who I can live with Can I live with dogs? No Can I live with cats? No Can I live with small pets? Yes, conditionally - Securely housed small pets Additional information Billy hasn’t met many dogs and will need to continue being socialised with appropriate dogs who can help teach him some manners. His interactions should be monitored to ensure that he’s learning the right behaviour to grow into a well rounded dog. Family and environment What kind of family am I looking for? Billy can live with children aged 8+ who can understand his puppy behaviour and won’t be worried by it. He is an excitable boy who is still learning how to manage his enthusiasm. Billy is a busy boy and is looking for owners who can give him guidance and training to help him mature into a well-mannered dog. What type of environment would suit me? Billy will need a secure, private garden in his new home. It would provide a positive area for training sessions, help with toilet training and give him a safe place to burn off some of his puppy energy through play. About Billy Buttons Billy is a wonderful puppy but does, like with any pup, need some training and structure in his life. He has got a lot of love to give; he just needs the right people to give him the care and attention he needs and deserves. Billy is currently in foster and progressing well. They love him very much and have discovered he hates the rain and has to be tempted to go outside. He is super clumsy and will lie on the bed or sofa and start to slip off as he starts to get sleepy. He is obsessed with the corner shop and will stand outside the big windows and refuse to move until the owner comes out to say hi. At night, he sees the bright lights and will run towards them just to sit outside the window and stare in. There is no doubt Billy will be a very rewarding addition to the family; new owners will need patience and a can-do attitude.

About Billy Buttons

What life with Billy Buttons looks like

Billy Buttons is a large puppy/kitten staffordshire bull terrier dog waiting at Woodgreen Pets Charity in United Kingdom.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Billy Buttons, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Billy Buttons?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Woodgreen Pets Charity handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Billy Buttons on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Billy Buttons if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Woodgreen Pets Charity will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Billy Buttons already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Billy Buttons isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Woodgreen Pets Charity early rather than rehoming privately; they know Billy Buttons and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
