Meet Billy! 1/3 Name: Billy Gender: Male Age: 6 Years Breed: Jackapoo Size: Medium We’re looking for the holy grail of homes for this special boy. We know the odds are totally against us but we won’t give up. Poor Billy was just hours from being left behind. At risk of abandonment in a cold, empty property with no food, no water and no way out, he would have starved to death and we couldn’t let that happen. Billy is a 6 year old Jackapoo now in the care of One Wish. It’s heart-breakingly clear that he’s been through trauma. He’s frightened, unsure, and sometimes reacts aggressively out of fear. Billy is currently fearful of human touch and will bite if he is put in a position that he isn't comfortable with. He needs a completely hands-off approach, with eventual, gentle introductions to touch. He's a very complex boy who has been deeply traumatised in his previous life. As a tiny, brand new rescue, our resources are extremely limited. But we knew we had no choice. The alternative was unthinkable. Billy is currently in a specialist foster home, where he is safe and well cared for. We are hoping that with time, love and patience, he can be rehabilitated and we will eventually be able to find his forever home. For the time being, we can consider applications for a foster-to-adopt home where Billy can begin to heal. Billy needs someone truly special: an experienced, calm, compassionate, and patient person, in a child-free home, ideally in the Oxfordshire area but we can consider further afield. Billy is able to share his home with calm, friendly dogs and/or dog-friendly cats. This is more than just fostering. It’s giving a damaged, vulnerable soul the chance to trust again and to be cared for the way he deserves.
