DOG BIN OK. 6 YEARS 616093902907079 (60/25) VACCINATIONS: YES SIZE: MEDIUM BINS: 20 Bin was adopted into the type of trendy modern breed, border collie. And people pay a fortune for certain breeds, but can't take care of the dogs… Someone couldn't handle Bin, couldn't meet his needs, perhaps didn't understand his sensitive psyche. His psyche is complicated. At the animal shelter, Bin initially showed a darker side – he was happy to go on walks, but returns to his bin were often difficult. Fortunately, he also showed that he can build a bond with a human, a bond based on genuine trust. When that happens, he becomes a lap dog, allowing himself to be touched everywhere. This is the case with Monika, who works at the shelter and is delighted with him! He is her favorite. He seeks her support. Other people Bin accepts, he enjoys walks with them, eagerly follows commands, and will take a treat, but a certain lack of trust remains. Generally, he is unsure in his first contact, needing time to get to know a person. Toys, ball – are not as important to Bin as they usually are for dogs of this breed. He reacts nervously to the busy street – it's no wonder, given that he was abandoned near a fast-moving road. But stairs, enclosed spaces, he knows and feels comfortable in them. An animal shelter, a place full of stress and noise, is not easy for any dog, and especially for a breed with such heightened senses like border collies, it is particularly difficult, which can have a huge impact on his behavior. Bin needs a quiet, stable home, preferably without children, that understands the specifics of the breed, not afraid to work on his traumas and resource defense issues. The caregiver must give him a sense of security, also by setting boundaries, being a support for him. This animal is not suitable for homes with children.

PIES BIN OK. 6 LAT 616093902907079 (60/25) SZCZEPIENIA: TAK WIELKOŚĆ: ŚREDNI BOKS: 20 Bin to pies w typie modnej teraz rasy border collie.

About BIN

What life with BIN looks like

BIN is a adult dog waiting at Schronisko Promyk Gdańsk in Gdansk.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting BIN, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about BIN?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Promyk Gdańsk handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw BIN on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt BIN if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Promyk Gdańsk will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is BIN already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if BIN isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Promyk Gdańsk early rather than rehoming privately; they know BIN and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
