Bina

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

♀, born ca. 3/2024 Social - sensitive - still anxious In Spain, Bina is a female mixed breed dog, born around March 2024, with a shoulder height of approximately 35-40 cm. Bina has been hiding in a rural area on the outskirts of a village for months, together with two other dogs. It is uncertain how she got there and what she went through before arriving. She was so afraid that it seemed impossible to secure her. It took two and a half months to secure Bina and bring her to the local animal shelter; however, her fear followed her. Bina has been in the shelter for several months now, but has made little progress. People still make her very anxious, and she has not yet discovered that hands can also give caresses, protection, and love. She lives in the loud and stressful everyday life of the shelter in constant fear and seems completely lost there. Behind these anxious eyes, there is a small dog who just wants to feel safe in order to be herself. Bina needs a loving home; caring, level-headed people with experience, calmness, and patience. She needs someone who does not pressure her and has no immediate expectations of her, respects her pace, and teaches her - step by step - that she does not have to be afraid anymore. Having an already existing confident first dog to orientate herself around would be an advantage and very supportive for Bina. Children should not be present in her future home, as this would mean too much stress for her. Bina needs people who show her how beautiful life can be and - step by step - integrate her actively into their everyday life, where Bina finally experiences security, love, and care. Bina is highly compatible with dogs of both sexes. Having a socially compatible, confident, preferably similar age and size, existing companion dog, to which she can orientate herself, would be very helpful and supportive for her. A quiet rural home and environment would be desirable and ideal for her. Children, cats, and/or small animals should not be present in her future home. Bina is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested for Mediterranean diseases. She is being rehomed. Bina is located in an animal shelter in central Spain. The deposit for Bina is 580 euros. About Bina

What life with Bina looks like

Bina is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. in Berlin.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
