♂, born approx. 08/2023 gentle—with a minor handicap—in Rota/Southern Spain. Valentin is a male cat born around August 2023. Since February 2025, Valentin has been living at the cat shelter in Rota. He was found at a roundabout on the outskirts of town—likely after a collision with a car. Fortunately, he didn’t suffer any fractures, but you could clearly see how frightened he’d been. In the meantime, he’s recovered well and has settled comfortably into his place at the cat shelter. Valentin is a slender cat with a very special pattern on his face: a delicate, brownish hue surrounds his eyes, nose, and muzzle—almost like a little mask that gives him a uniquely charming expression. Although he’s long since reached adulthood, he remains physically rather small, which suits his reserved nature perfectly. He’s not the type of cat who immediately approaches people. He prefers to observe from a distance first, doesn’t force himself on anyone, and needs time to build trust. Those who respect this will gradually be rewarded. With other cats, however, Valentin is all the more confident: he loves spending his time cuddling with Coco, especially now that his best friend Dua Lipa has embarked on her journey to Germany. Actually, the two were supposed to travel together to Germany in December; Valentin’s spot had already been reserved. But shortly before departure, he was injured in the eye by another cat. The injury was so severe that his eye had to be removed. The surgery went well, and the wound is healing—but unfortunately, his start into a new life had to be canceled. Valentin is just beginning to adjust to life with only one eye. He’s doing great, attentive, alert, and curious. What he still lacks is a calm and loving home with people who won’t rush him but instead give him the time he needs. A social female cat by his side would be ideal. ♂, geb. ca. 08/2023sanft - mit kleinem Handicapin Rota/Südspanien Valentin ist ein ca. 08/23 geborener Kater und lebt seit Februar 2025 im Katzenhaus in Rota/Südspanien. Valentin wurde an einem Kreisverkehr am Stadtrand gefunden, nachdem er vermutlich von einem Auto angefahren worden war. Zum Glück hatte er keine Brüche, aber der Schreck war ihm anzusehen. Inzwischen hat er sich gut erholt und seinen Platz im Katzenhaus gefunden. Valentin ist ein zierlicher Kater mit einem ganz besonderen Muster im Gesicht: Um Augen, Nase und Schnäuzchen zieht sich ein feiner, bräunlicher Schimmer – fast wie eine kleine Maske, die ihm einen ganz eigenen Ausdruck verleiht. Obwohl er längst ausgewachsen ist, bleibt er körperlich eher klein, was gut zu seiner zurückhaltenden Art passt. Er gehört nicht zu den Katzen, die sofort auf Menschen zulaufen und sich in den Mittelpunkt drängen. Lieber beobachtet er zunächst aus sicherer Entfernung und entscheidet selbst, wann er bereit ist, Vertrauen zu fassen. Eigentlich hätte sich Valentin im letzten Dezember zusammen seiner besten Freundin Dua Lipa auf den Weg nach Deutschland machen sollen, sein Platz war schon reserviert. Doch kurz vor der Ausreise wurde er von einer anderen Katze am Auge verletzt. Die Verletzung war so schwer, dass das Auge entfernt werden musste. Die OP ist gut verlaufen, die Wunde heilt, nur sein Start in ein neues Leben musste leider abgesagt werden. Valentín beginnt gerade, sich an sein Leben mit nur einem Auge zu gewöhnen. Er kommt gut zurecht, ist aufmerksam, wach und neugierig. Jedoch ist er seit seiner Augenverletzung etwas vorsichtiger, was andere Katzen angeht, vor allem, seitdem seine Freundinnen Coco und Dua Lipa nicht mehr in seiner Nähe sind. Im Katzenhaus versteht er sich vor allem mit weiblichen Katzen, wird aber auch langsam entspannter im Umgang mit sozialen und nicht dominanten Katern. Aufgrund seines Handicaps möchten wir ihn nur in eine katzengerechte Wohnungshaltung (am liebsten mit gesichertem Balkon oder gesicherten Freigang) vermitteln. Eine liebe weibliche Katze an seiner Seite wäre ideal für Valentin. Er ist kastriert, geimpft, gechipt und negativ auf FIV und FeLV getestet. Die Schutzgebühr für den besonderen Kater beträgt 280 €.
