Adopt Valentin | EFfL e.V.

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 1 year

♂, born ca. 08/2023, gentle - with a small handicap, Valentin is a ca. 08/23 born tomcat. Valentín has lived in the shelter in Rota since February 2025. He was found at a roundabout on the outskirts of town – likely after a collision with a car. Fortunately, he had no fractures, but the shock was visible. By now, he has recovered well and found his place in the shelter. Valentin is a slender tomcat with a very special pattern on his face: a fine, brownish shimmer circles around his eyes, nose, and snout – almost like a small mask that gives him a unique expression. Although he is fully grown, he remains physically small, which fits his reserved nature. He is not a tomcat who immediately approaches people. He likes to observe from a distance, does not push himself on others, and needs time to build trust. Those who respect this will be rewarded over time. With other cats, Valentín is much more secure: He prefers to spend his time cuddling with Coco, especially after his best friend Dua Lipa embarked on her journey to Germany. Originally, the two were supposed to travel to Germany together in December, with Valentín’s spot already reserved. But just before the travel arrangements, he was injured in the eye by another cat. The injury was so severe that the eye had to be removed. The operation went well, the wound is healing, but his start in a new life had to be canceled. Valentín is just beginning to adapt to his life with one eye. He gets along well, is attentive, alert, and curious. What he still needs is a quiet and loving home with people who do not rush him but give him the time he needs. A social female cat by his side would be ideal. Valentin is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV. Would you give the sweet tomcat his long-awaited chance? Then contact us. Important information for Berlin-based interested parties: Currently, there are very limited transport options between southern Spain and Berlin. Therefore, animals from Rota would likely need to be picked up in Hannover. However, places for Berlin could become available if we are lucky. ©2022 by Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. Created with Wix.

About Valentin | EFfL e.V.

What life with Valentin | EFfL e.V. looks like

Valentin | EFfL e.V. is a small young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. in Berlin.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

Frequently asked

Adopting Valentin | EFfL e.V., answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Valentin | EFfL e.V.?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Valentin | EFfL e.V. on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Valentin | EFfL e.V. if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Valentin | EFfL e.V. already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Valentin | EFfL e.V. isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Valentin | EFfL e.V. and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
