adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Binja was found alone in a village. Through her chip, it was determined that she once had a owner. But why she ended up on her own will likely remain her secret. However, when you look into her gentle eyes, you quickly realize that her life must have been far from easy. She is an old soul, marked by the past – and yet, she has preserved her kindness and trust in people. At about 11 years old, she measures around 60 cm at the shoulder and weighs approximately 30 kg. Visually, Binja resembles a German Shepherd mix, with her dignified bearing, loyal gaze, and gentle nature. Despite her age, she still carries a special beauty within her – calm, modest, and full of warmth. Binja is very affectionate, clingy, and people-oriented. She seeks the company of her trusted people, enjoys every pat, and acts like a female dog that longs nothing more than to finally find a place to belong. A soft dog bed, loving hands, and people who give her security – it seems she doesn't need much more to be happy. Unfortunately, Binja also comes with health challenges. She has breast tumors and suffers from a painful spinal inflammation, which is why she urgently needs people who can provide her with the care, rest, and pain therapy she deserves. After years of sacrifice, she should finally be able to experience what security and love feel like. So far, Binja has not been tested with other dogs or cats. We are therefore looking for a very special place of grace with sensitive people with big hearts who do not have high expectations of her but simply want to give her a dignified and loving old age. Would someone like to show this wonderful senior that life also has beautiful sides to offer and give her a warm, safe place of grace? A special thank you goes to Birgit Z.! With her name, you have not only given Binja an identity but also hope for a new chapter full of love and security. As of: 19.05. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen!

About Binja

What life with Binja looks like

Binja is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Binja, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Binja?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Binja on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Binja if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Binja already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Binja isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Binja and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
