Für weiteren Kontakt fehlte ihm zunächst noch etwas Mut. Als seine Bezugsperson kam, zeigte er deutlich seine Freude und ließ sich anschließend problemlos anfassen. Er lebt ohne Probleme in einem gemischten Kennel mit anderen Hunden zusammen. Insgesamt macht Blackwell einen freundlichen Eindruck, benötigt bei fremden Menschen jedoch etwas Zeit um Vertrauen zu fassen.
