Blade

Staffordshire Bull Terrier Β· Male Β· Senior Β· 11 years

Blade is a very sweet, gentle, older boy who so deserves the most cosiest, loving new home home to rest up for his old age! Blade has shared a kennel and spces with another dog with no problems, but prefers calm dogs, due to not knowing Blades history, we would like any children in the home to be of secondary age and above and respectful of his rest and space, as he does love a snooze! Blade loves nothing more than snuggling up on the sofa with his wonderful foster carer under the blanket, he isn't a fan of being left home alone though, who can blame him after all he has gone through at his age, he is just wanting some stability and company! Blade also needs to get used to travelling in the car, as this seems like it is something new to him, although he is doing well with some gentle encouragement to jump in. Overall, Blade really is a gentle, loving old man who is looking for some TLC in his golden years. Blade is a handsome, lovable, senior Staffy looking for a special retirement home to call his own! Blade is 11 years old and came to us through sadly being a stray, so we don't know his histroy. He is looking for a home where he can be with his humans most of the time, have gentle, sniffy walks and lota of cuddle time on the sofa! Blade could potentially live with another dog, pending a succesful meet at the centre but not one that is too bouncy, Blade is looking for calm vibes only for his retirement!

About Blade

What life with Blade looks like

Blade is a senior staffordshire bull terrier dog waiting at Dogs Trust Bridgend in Mid Glamorgan.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Blade, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Blade?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Bridgend handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Blade on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Blade if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Dogs Trust Bridgend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Blade already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Blade isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Bridgend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Blade and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
