Adopt Blanca

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 5 months

Blanca is a possibly Shar Pei mix female dog born in December 2025, who came from an unwanted litter. Together with her siblings, she was surrendered to the shelter of our Hungarian partner organization. She possesses an exceptionally friendly and charming nature and loves all people. She enjoys getting attention, moves around happily, and will not take long to join in play. She shows intelligence and will surely learn everything necessary quickly. Due to her loving nature, she would make a great family dog, and families with older, understanding children would have a lot of fun with her. Blanca gets along well with all her own kind and would fit best as a second dog to a playful buddy. How she reacts to cats is not known. She wishes for loving and active people with plenty of free time to spend with her, living either in the suburbs or in the countryside and bringing some experience in dog care. The adult female dog will reach a shoulder height of approximately 43 – 46 cm and weigh around 13 – 16 kg. Since the parents of our puppies and young dogs are often not known (at best, the mother), the size and weight specifications are estimates based on experience, which can deviate both below and above the given figures.

About Blanca

What life with Blanca looks like

Blanca is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Care Hungary.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Blanca, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Blanca?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Care Hungary handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Blanca on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Blanca if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Care Hungary will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Blanca already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Blanca isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Care Hungary early rather than rehoming privately; they know Blanca and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
