Adopt Bloody Mary

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 4 years

uncertain, shy, compatible, calm Bloody Mary came to us at the animal shelter in March 2024. During the spaying, she had heavy bleeding and the Mediterranean check showed that she is positive for Ehrlichiosis. Fortunately, she recovered and the Ehrlichiosis was treated. The loving female dog was allowed to stay at our animal shelter because we didn't want to let her go into the unknown again after treatment. Mary is compatible with other dogs and belongs to the calmer dogs. She barks very little and prefers to stay in the background. She is still very uncertain and very reserved towards people. She likes to keep her distance and avoids direct contact. She will need a lot of time to gain some trust. A home would only be possible with very patient people, where also a securely fenced garden would be available. A confident, nice only dog could already live in her family. All are vaccinated, microchipped and have an EU passport. They are checked for Mediterranean diseases according to their age. See information on our homepage. Every dog placed makes space for one of those dogs that have to struggle through life hungry and emaciated.

AUFENTHALTSORT

About Bloody Mary

What life with Bloody Mary looks like

Bloody Mary is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. in Greece.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇷Adopting from Greece

Greek shelters often partner with Northern European rescue groups for placements. Animals are sterilized, vaccinated, and chipped before adoption. Fees vary widely depending on whether the shelter is municipal or NGO-run.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bloody Mary, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bloody Mary?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bloody Mary on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bloody Mary if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bloody Mary already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bloody Mary isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bloody Mary and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
