Adopt Blossom

Female · Senior · 60 years

Hi everyone, My name is Blossom. My personality: I am an older lady, and I can be very shy. I have been used to living my 12 years in a home where I had little human contact, I am not nasty I am just shy I will tolerate fusses and I love my food. Life here in the cattery is very scary and it makes me very anxious, the sooner I find a home the better. My ideal home: I am looking for my retirement home, I need a quiet calm home where people are very understanding and have lots of time and patience. I may never be a confident cat, but I still deserve a loving home where I can do what I want and be happy and safe. Access to outdoors: In my previous home, I did have access to the outdoors, but I did spend a lot of time indoors, due to my shyness I may benefit from being an indoor-only cat. Toileting: I am litter-trained, I will use either grit or wood chip litter. Did you know: In human years I am actually 60 years old! My adoption fee is £100

About Blossom

What life with Blossom looks like

Blossom is a senior cat waiting at Rain Rescue in United Kingdom.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Blossom, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Blossom?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Rain Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Blossom on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Blossom if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Rain Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Blossom already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Blossom isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Rain Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Blossom and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
