Bluey

Labrador Retriever · Male · Adult · 3 years

Bluey - Bundle of Energy on Four Paws Bluey has been waiting too long at the Spanish shelter - and yet, this handsome labrador male has everything that makes labrador fans' hearts beat faster: friendliness, joy of life and a lot of desire for shared adventures. However, the shelter simply cannot meet the needs of a young, energetic dog like Bluey. The walks are rare and too short, his energy builds up - and so Bluey naturally shows great enthusiasm outside. Typical of a labrador, he is active, strong and sometimes a little whirlwind on the leash. Therefore, his future humans should enjoy being out with their dog, physically and mentally challenging him, and discovering the world together. Bluey is an extremely friendly and nice dog who is very approachable towards people. Probably, his previous family just failed to give him the necessary structure and training. However, Bluey wants to please, is clever and with loving consistency, patience and positive reinforcement, he will quickly learn what is expected of him. A visit to a dog school would certainly be a great support for him and his people. We wish Bluey an active home, preferably with people who enjoy movement, trips and activities with a dog. Children should be a bit older and steady because of his lively nature. Bluey is not looking for a perfect family - only people who really want him, support him, work with him and finally let him feel at home. Who will finally give this cheerful labrador the chance for the home he has been waiting for so long? Here is Bluey's video

About Bluey

What life with Bluey looks like

Bluey is a small adult labrador retriever dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bluey, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bluey?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bluey on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bluey if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bluey already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bluey isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bluey and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
