adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Boas can stay! His story: Our sweet puppy Boas was taken in by his foster home in Aachen at the end of April. Within a few days, he could showcase his cute and lively personality and charm everyone with his charisma. Boas is about 2 years old and 35 cm tall. He is a golden, scruffy bear of a dog whose joy is contagious and spreads good mood. He will quickly become the favorite of everyone he meets because somehow he takes everything in stride – car rides, household noises, strangers, or the loud vacuum cleaner – no problem for our Boas. The little guy is very happy to be outdoors and enjoys the change, but he doesn't have to walk the whole time; he also likes to lie on the grass on a beautiful day next to his people and observe the world. On the side, picnics and fun with dog friends? Boas is all for it! He plays super well with other dogs and can also submit to them. It would be nice if he finds a home where there might already be a dog and he can often be outdoors in a garden. Interacting with children is also no problem, although he is a bit skeptical with small children. He was house-trained after a short time, the basic commands work well, and walking on a leash is a piece of cake for Boas. He is a picky eater, so he prefers juicy and healthy wet food instead of stale dry food. Every time he happily munches away, his sweet tooth gap becomes visible, making him even more golden. Boas is microchipped, neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. In love with our cuddly bear in the miniformat? Boas is waiting in Aachen for you and looking forward to meeting you. Thanks, Josi! You gave Boas his name and thus his own identity. Date: 22.05.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Boas darf bleiben! Stand: 22.05.2025

About Boas

What life with Boas looks like

Boas is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Boas, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Boas?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Boas on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Boas if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Boas already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Boas isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Boas and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
