Bob

Scottish Fold · Male · Young · 2 years

Bob is a very special cat who knows what he wants and what he doesn't want😉 He is very people-oriented, loves attention and enjoys being the center of attention. He prefers to be very close to his humans and wants to actively participate in their lives. But Bob also has his cozy sides🥰He loves peace and quiet, enjoys relaxed hours and wants to be able to retreat when he feels like it. Whoever loves Bob also respects his boundaries and lets him decide when cuddling is on the agenda and when he prefers a little break ❤️Basically, Bob is a calm, cozy cat who wants an equally relaxed home. He is compatible with other cats, but sympathy decides whether a friendship develops or they prefer to live peacefully side by side. However, there is something important to know about Bob. Bob is a Scottish Fold. This breed is considered a breeding defect because the genetic change responsible for the characteristic folded ears can also affect the cartilage and bone apparatus. The so-called osteochondrodysplasia can lead to painful joint changes and movement restrictions. The extent of the complaints can be individually different. Therefore, responsible veterinary care and a vigilant eye on Bob's mobility and well-being are particularly important. If you want to learn more about the breed and its health risks, you can find detailed information here from the German Animal Welfare Association: We wish for Bob people who deal with these special features in detail before adoption, take his needs seriously and are willing to provide him with the best possible care. But Bob is so much more than his breed❤️ He is a unique personality with preferences, needs and a lot of charm. He should not be reduced to his folded ears or possible health problems, but seen as the cat he is. A lovable companion who deserves a beautiful and cared-for life🥹❤️For Bob, we are looking for a quiet home exclusively in apartment living. A secured balcony or a secured terrace would of course be wonderful so he can relax and enjoy the sun and observe his surroundings. If you would like to get to know Bob, please fill out our inquiry form.

About Bob

What life with Bob looks like

Bob is a young adult scottish fold cat waiting at Tierhelfer Ingelheim e. V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bob, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bob?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierhelfer Ingelheim e. V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bob on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bob if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierhelfer Ingelheim e. V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Bob already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bob isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierhelfer Ingelheim e. V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bob and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
