Adopt Loki

American Staffordshire Terrier · Male · Adult · 8 years

Hello... ...my name is LOKI and I'm looking for a new home with people who have a lot of dog experience! I was born in March 2018, I'm neutered and have a chip. I had basic training, but my new parents would still have to work a lot with me and attend dog training classes. Because I am full of energy and enthusiasm, mental stimulation is very important for me... Boredom is fatal and then I also like to "destroy" toys and blankets... I don't particularly like small children and other pets in my "kingdom" and the ones I like, I choose myself. (The girls here say I'm a little "drama queen", which I of course see totally differently) So whoever falls in love with me, please get in touch... "Note from the editor": A Loki is not a "everyman's dog". He chooses who he can stand and who he can't. Once he has someone in his heart, he is a super great dog and also very cuddly. As an American Staffordshire Terrier, Loki is on the list of "dangerous dogs" in many federal states.

Hallo... "Anm. d. Redaktion":Eine Loki ist kein "Jedermannshund". Er sucht sich aus, wen er leiden kann und wen nicht. Hat er jemand ins Herz geschlossen, ist er ein mega toller Hund und auch auch sehr verschmust. Als American Staffordshire Terrier steht Loki in vielen Bundesländern auf der Liste der "gefährlichen Hunde" und eine Bei Interesse schreiben Sie ein Mail an

About Loki

What life with Loki looks like

Loki is a adult american staffordshire terrier dog waiting at Tierhelfer Ingelheim e. V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Loki, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Loki?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierhelfer Ingelheim e. V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Loki on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Loki if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierhelfer Ingelheim e. V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Loki already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Loki isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierhelfer Ingelheim e. V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Loki and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
