Adopt Boedy

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 3 years

Welcome Boedy Stad and land called but unfortunately there was no room anywhere. However, it was urgent to arrange a shelter for Boedy. The owner is no longer able to care for Boedy due to a crisis situation. A very kind lady (even though she is elderly), a friend of the gentleman, brought Boedy to us after a brief discussion. A long car ride of 2.5 hours was no problem as long as Boedy ended up in a good place. Yes, there are still people who care about their surroundings. (human and animal) It's truly lovely and touching to see. We will take care of Boedy and look for a nice place for him. He is 3 years and 9 months old and weighs about 15 kg and is roughly 40 cm tall. Although his passport states that he should be a mixed breed Teckel/Corgi, we think he is more likely a mix with a Beagle. He is well-groomed, can be left alone at home, walks well (he is also in good condition), and we would like to see him with older people. After all, older people should be easy to find, we think. We will do our best and hope that Boedy finds a nice place soon.

About Boedy

What life with Boedy looks like

Boedy is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at DOC Oldenzaal in Netherlands.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Boedy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Boedy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. DOC Oldenzaal handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Boedy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Boedy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — DOC Oldenzaal will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Boedy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Boedy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with DOC Oldenzaal early rather than rehoming privately; they know Boedy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
