adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this dog! Bojan has found a home! His story: The beautiful Shepherd mix Bojan is desperately seeking a home… Bojan is an approximately 2-year-old male dog with a shoulder height of around 60 cm and a weight of about 35 kg. He has already endured a lot: With severe facial injuries, he came to an animal clinic, where he was medically treated and fattened up. After his wounds had healed, he unfortunately ended up in the public shelter in Bistrita. Now he finally has the chance to travel to a foster home. Bojan can be visited at any time at 37120 Bovenden OT Harste. Bojan still showed insecure behavioral patterns in certain situations at the shelter, which could be attributed to his stressful past. For example, he defends his food in front of his hind leg. Only during eating, he seems to feel threatened by his own leg and attacks it. Stereotypical behaviors were also observed, which could indicate stress or under-stimulation. Important to know: Outside of his kennel, Bojan is consistently friendly and compatible with people and other dogs. He also does not show stereotypical behaviors, such as attacking his leg, outside of the kennel. The confinement, monotony, and overall stress in the shelter took a severe toll on him. With clear communication, patience, and a secure framework, he can overcome these behavioral patterns. Positive dog training classes or the guidance of experienced trainers can help him build trust, settle down, and develop new behavioral strategies. Bojan needs people who are willing to accompany him with care and include his story in their shared future. In his foster home, he enjoys going for walks and looks forward to his walks. He has fun exploring everything and would like to be challenged with head and nose work. It is likely that Bojan is a German Shepherd mix – he therefore may bring typical traits like intelligence, work ethic, and a high attachment readiness. German Shepherds are known to be eager to learn and vigilant, but also require clear leadership, adequate mental stimulation, and mental challenge. Bojan is seeking a home that offers him stability, structure, and a lot of affection. People who want to grow with an active, intelligent dog will find a loyal companion in him. Do you want to be this person for Bojan? Bojan is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas and has his EU pet passport. He will be released after a positive assessment. A big thank you goes to Susanne – you gave Bojan the chance at a new life with his awesome name! As of: 03.12.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 03.12.2025

About Bojan

What life with Bojan looks like

Bojan is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bojan, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bojan?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bojan on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bojan if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bojan already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bojan isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bojan and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
