adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Boni has found a home! His story: Boni is a 5.5-year-old French Bulldog and is searching for her permanent home. He is a typical Bully: charming, sometimes stubborn, and quite confident. Clear, loving rules and a structured daily routine are important so he can orient himself and not take the lead. Boni had a lot of freedom and few firm guidelines up until now. Therefore, he needs people who can patiently guide him and explain daily situations to him. Cuddling and playful interaction are not a given for him; they need to be built up. Once he has built trust, he shows his big, sensitive heart: he likes to snuggle and play and really blossoms. Being alone scares and stresses him; he barks clearly in such situations. With a second dog already in the household, he finds being alone much easier—he relaxes and sleeps peacefully. Therefore, a home with a confident fellow animal would be ideal to give him additional security and to gently strengthen his bond to a person. Boni reacts inappropriately if he is treated roughly or dominantly; he can then growl or clearly set boundaries. Therefore, we are looking for people with calmness, patience, and experience who can continue to work with him with sensitivity. In his foster home, Boni lives harmoniously with five other Bullys and shows himself to be kindly and subordinate. Whoever can offer Boni a home with structure, time, and much empathy will receive a loyal, sensitive companion. There is no food or resource stress—Boni simply wants to be understood and loved. Boni had a not-so-easy life so far and brings some challenges. Including minor health issues like ear problems or hygiene issues with the tail. All of this is currently being treated. We lack an assessment for cats and children at the moment. However, we can slowly and calmly try this out in the new year. For Boni, we are looking for a quiet home with dog-experienced people who can recognize his needs and meet him with patience, clarity, and affection. Boni is not a "follower," but a dog with character who wants to orient himself towards his people and is a very loyal companion for the right primary caregiver. Boni is microchipped, neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. He has an EU pet passport and is ready for adoption as of 31.12.

About Boni

What life with Boni looks like

Boni is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Boni, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Boni?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Boni on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Boni if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Boni already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Boni isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Boni and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
