Boo

Cane Corso · Female · Young · 2 years

Say hello to Boo! Boo is a lovely Cane Corso with a big personality and plenty of energy to share! She is a sweet, affectionate girl who enjoys spending time with her people and loves nothing more than getting involved in playtime. Boo has a good history of living happily with people and previously shared her home with a 10 year old Staffie. The pair enjoyed playing together as well as relaxing in each other’s company. Boo can be very enthusiastic and bouncy, so she is looking for a family who can embrace her energetic nature and help her channel it in positive ways. Since coming into our care, she has found the kennel environment quite overwhelming and can become vocal when she is feeling stressed or seeking attention. She is gradually becoming more settled, and we have already seen that she is capable of relaxing when given the right environment and time. Boo is also making good progress with her lead walking and training, although she can still be strong and excitable at times. Her new family will need to continue building on this training and provide her with plenty of appropriate exercise, enrichment and opportunities to burn off her energy. Boo would be best suited with owners who are willing to put the time and effort into helping her continue to develop into the wonderful all round pet she has the potential to be. She is a loving, affectionate girl who has lots to offer and will bring plenty of character, enthusiasm and love to the right home. Boo does show some strong guarding breed traits and can alarm bark at times towards new people, although she makes friends quickly she'd largely benefit from owners who have experience and are prepared for all the typical traits that come with owning a guarding breed! Boo could live with another playful, tolerant dog. Any dog sharing her home would need to be comfortable with her enthusiastic style of play while also being able to have their own space and time away from her. She'd need her own private garden and in a quieter location away from the hustle and bustle of the inner city. Boo is currently recovering from cherry eye surgery, and the pictures you can see here were taken before the procedure. If you are looking for a loving, energetic companion and are ready to continue Boo’s training while helping her settle and flourish, this special girl could be the one for you. About Boo

What life with Boo looks like

Boo is a large young adult cane corso dog waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Boo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Boo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Boo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Boo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Boo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Boo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Boo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
