adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt these two! adoption requirements adoption process Ajax and Boober have found a new home together! His story: Boober had a very tough life so far. The ten-year-old tomcat was in the care of a sick lady who housed him along with 12-15 other cats and 20 dogs. Although she did her best to take care of the animals, her illness unfortunately prevented her from doing so. All the cats lived together in a small room without water, food, or a litter box. When the police intervened and freed the cats from their dire situation, they had to realize that many of the cats unfortunately did not survive this condition… Boober, along with Ajax, came to us in the foster home emaciated and with infected teeth. Some of his teeth had to be removed, which is why his tongue sometimes sticks out of his mouth. Despite all the difficulties, Boober is very friendly, friendly, and cuddly. He actively seeks the company of his humans and could spend the whole day cuddling! When playing, you wouldn't notice his age at all, as he always encourages his fellow animals to play and can keep up with the younger ones! Boober enjoys the company of his fellow animals very much and would therefore not be suitable for solitary confinement. In the comfort of his own home, Boober feels most at ease, and he can do without going out. However, he would certainly appreciate a cat-safe netted balcony. Boober is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas, and has tested negative for FIV and FeLV. He also has an EU pet passport and is now ready to travel hopefully for the last time. Many thanks to Silvie S. This cat needs outdoor access.

About Boober

What life with Boober looks like

Boober is a large adult mixed breed cat waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Boober, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Boober?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Boober on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Boober if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Boober already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Boober isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Boober and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
