Bootsy

Mixed Breed Cat · Female · Young · 3 years

Bootsy came to us through no fault of her own. We unfortunately don’t know anything of her past. However, since arrival this three legged long haired angel has been nothing but sweet. She loves company and is always interested in checking out new things and people. She loves a good brush and a fuss and doesn’t let her missing leg stop her from anything. She is looking for a loving home to take her in and share there love. She is truly lovely simply loves having a snooze by her window, getting fuss, and eating up her wet food. Is she the right cat for you? Bootsy has a historic medical concern, namely a missing left hind leg, that will require consideration before this pet is rehomed. Our rehoming team will be able to give you further information if you apply to rehome this pet and you are a successful match. We don’t know her history so can not guarantee anything. However as long as slow and well monitored introductions are done, it could be possible for her to live with other pets. We recommend that any small animals are securely housed.

About Bootsy

What life with Bootsy looks like

Bootsy is a small young adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Wood Green in London.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bootsy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bootsy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Wood Green handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bootsy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bootsy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Wood Green will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Bootsy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bootsy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Wood Green early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bootsy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
