Boris - from the shaft straight into the heart ❤️ Approximate small to medium size Location: Romania Boris - approximately 4 months old (as of 29.09.2026) Friendly, lively, playful like a puppy Boris and his four siblings did not have an easy start in life. 😔 The five little puppies were discovered near the Bulgarian border by a friend of our animal welfare organization - in a shaft from which they could not have freed themselves. 🕳️🐾 Fortunately, no one turned a blind eye. 🙏 Although our shelter is already full, our animal welfare worker did not hesitate and took the little siblings to safety. ❤️ Immediately after, Boris and his siblings went to the vet. 🩺🐶 There, the first examinations were carried out and we could breathe a sigh of relief: thank God everything is in order! 🍀❤️ Now, the five can finally arrive at the shelter and recover as much as possible from the hardships. 🏠🐾 They are safe, cared for, and finally have the chance to grow up carefree. 💕🐶 But the shelter is not supposed to be their forever home. 🥺 Boris is eagerly waiting with his siblings for people who want to give him his own bed, lots of love, and above all a safe and sheltered life. 🏡❤️ As is the case for a little puppy, there is still a lot for Boris to discover and learn. 🐶🌿 The dog 1x1, house training, leash walking and all the many small and big adventures of life are still waiting for him. 🎓🐾 We wish Boris a loving family that will accompany him on his journey and show him how beautiful a dog's life can be. 🥰🏡💙 Perhaps you are the person Boris has been waiting for so eagerly? 🐾❤️ Boris is vaccinated, chipped, dewormed, not yet neutered and examined by a veterinarian and in possession of an EU pet passport. All our dogs travel with official Traces papers and Paragraph 11 permit to Germany. Our dogs are additionally tested for Mittelmeerkrankheiten via rapid test. The adoption fee is 520€ plus 30€ for the purchase of the safety harness. Note: When we assign our dogs to certain breeds, we are orienting ourselves exclusively on the external appearance as well as the observable behavior (phenotype). The following applies: This assignment is made to the best of the association's knowledge and conscience as well as that of the participating veterinarians. However, these information do not necessarily correspond to the actual genetic makeup (genotype), because the reliable determination of this would only be possible through a DNA analysis. In addition, the behavioral and character description of the respective animal is based on careful observations by the animal welfare workers on site or by the respective foster families. It should be noted that these assessments refer exclusively to the current local conditions in the shelters or foster homes. About Boris

What life with Boris looks like

Boris is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Rescued Souls e.V. in Pfinztal.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Boris, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Boris?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Rescued Souls e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Boris on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Boris if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Rescued Souls e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Boris already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Boris isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Rescued Souls e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Boris and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
