Borja

Male · Adult · 6 years

Borja is a six-year-old male kitten with a big heart and an even greater need for human companionship. Although initially reserved and cautious, he’s now increasingly eager to show his true nature. He’s an exceptionally people-oriented cat who loves being petted and happily savors every moment of attention he receives from his human caregiver. He’s a gentle and calm gentleman for whom the presence of a caring owner is incredibly important. When he feels safe, he can completely relax, resting on a soft blanket with his eyes half-closed. This cat doesn’t need much to be happy—just a bit of peace, affection, and a place he can call home. Borja struggles with gastrointestinal issues and remains on a specialized diet. His health is gradually improving, and the kitten himself is feeling better and better. We believe that a calm and stable home will have a positive impact not only on his well-being but also on his overall health. The kitten is also a carrier of the FIV virus. This virus poses no threat to humans or other animal species. Borja can live as an only cat or in a home with another cat who is also an FIV+ carrier. The kitten is currently undergoing specialized diagnostic testing of his digestive tract. We’re looking for a loving forever home for Borja—a home where he’ll receive care, security, and the time he needs to build a strong bond. He’s a special cat who longs to be close to people and will surely repay them with immense affection and feline love. Before adopting, we encourage you to review our pre-adoption questionnaire and come to the shelter with the completed form already filled out. Please note: If you’re deciding to adopt a cat or are considering adoption, be sure to bring a carrier or transport bag for cats to the shelter. Before adopting, make sure your home or apartment is safe and properly prepared to welcome a new family member. Remember to secure windows and balconies.

Borja to sześciolatni kocurek o wielkim sercu i jeszcze większej potrzebie bliskości człowieka. Takiego, w którym otrzyma troskę, bezpieczeństwo i czas potrzebny do budowania relacji. Pamiętaj, żeby zabezpieczyć okna i balkon.

About Borja

What life with Borja looks like

Borja is a small adult cat waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

Note from the shelter: FIV positive - requires special care and monitoring, cannot be housed with FIV-negative cats

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Borja, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Borja?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Borja on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Borja if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Borja already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Borja isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Borja and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
