Boston

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Boston had to experience something no dog should ever have to go through: His family gave him back. We don’t know why. What we do know, however, is that life in the shelter is taking a heavy toll on him. The hustle and bustle, the many other dogs, and the constant commotion are wearing him down. All the more reason Boston longs for a place where he can finally find peace and start building trust again. Despite everything, Boston hasn’t lost his friendly nature. He’s an active, open-minded, and social male dog who loves spending time with his people and cherishes their shared moments. He gets along effortlessly with other dogs—but he feels most comfortable around female dogs or calm, confident male dogs. On the other hand, he doesn’t particularly like dominant males. Boston carries many of the traits typical of a terrier. Terriers were originally bred as courageous, independent, and intelligent working dogs. They’re curious, eager to learn, and full of energy and enthusiasm. At the same time, they possess a unique charm and often form an especially close bond with their humans. With loving yet consistent training, they grow into loyal and joyful companions who enthusiastically accompany their families through life. Boston, too, would love people who enjoy being active with him and providing him with both physical and mental stimulation. Shared walks, short training sessions, or scent games would surely bring him great joy. Equally important to him are clear routines and a loving home where he can finally feel truly at ease. We know that Boston came from a home where he didn’t receive the affection and care that every dog deserves. That’s precisely why we’re hoping for people who can show him that a dog’s life can also be filled with security, respect, and love.

Boston musste erleben, was kein Hund erleben sollte: Seine Familie gab ihn zurück.

About Boston

What life with Boston looks like

Boston is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Europa in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Boston, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Boston?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Europa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Boston on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Boston if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Europa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Boston already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Boston isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Europa early rather than rehoming privately; they know Boston and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
