Bowie

Mixed Breed Β· Male Β· Puppy Β· 6 months

Introducing Bowie. This little boy was rescued along with his 2 siblings after being abandoned near the cemetery just outside Albox. Bowie was the last to be caught. Although he was hungry and loved being stroked he was just that bit more wary than his 2 siblings. Bowie is very lucky to have ended up in a temporary foster home where he is now learning to be loved. He is growing in confidence each day but still needs a little time and patience. He mixes well with the other dogs in the house and has been clean. Bowie is a podenco mix boy and expected to be a smaller medium sized adult. He has been treated for external and internal parasites and has started his first vaccines. Now all he needs is a home. About Bowie

What life with Bowie looks like

Bowie is a medium-sized puppy mixed breed dog waiting at APSA in Spain.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window β€” house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡ΈAdopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee. Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bowie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bowie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. APSA handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bowie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bowie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” APSA will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Bowie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bowie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with APSA early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bowie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
