Adopt Bowser

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

BREED: American Bulldog cross IDEAL HOME: a home with a garden LIVING WITH CHILDREN: older children 16 plus (I’m bouncy) LIVING WITH DOGS: I’d prefer to live on my own LIVING WITH CATS: I’ve never lived with cats Bowser is a 1-year-old American Bulldog cross who is looking for his forever home. He’s a very friendly boy who loves people, though he can sometimes feel a little nervous at first and may give a small grumble. With a bit of gentle reassurance and some puppy talk, his worries quickly melt away and his affectionate side shines through. Bowser is a lively, bouncy youngster who will need ongoing training. He can get quite giddy, especially at the start of walks where he may grab and bite the lead, but he soon settles and enjoys his outing. With consistent guidance and positive reinforcement, he has great potential to grow into a well-mannered companion. Due to his excitable and bouncy nature, Bowser would be best suited to an adult-only home or one with older children aged 16+. He’ll need an active home that can provide him with plenty of daily exercise, mental stimulation, and continued training to help him thrive. Bowser absolutely loves his teddy toys—and impressively, he doesn’t shred them! This gentle trait adds to his charm and shows his softer side. He has previously lived with other dogs, but we are still assessing how he interacts with dogs he doesn’t know. He cannot live with cats. Bowser is a fun, loving boy with lots of personality who will make a wonderful companion in the right home. With patience, structure, and plenty of love, he’s sure to become a loyal best friend. He’s definitely one for the bully breed fans out there! A loving, committed home Plenty of companionship – he doesn’t enjoy being alone for long periods An active lifestyle with daily walks and playtime Ongoing training (lead walking, basic commands, social skills) Mental stimulation (toys, games, enrichment) A secure space to relax and feel safe Good-quality food and fresh water Routine vet care (vaccinations, flea/worming, neutering when appropriate) Bowser is an incredibly sweet-natured, affectionate young dog who just wants to love and be loved. With the right home, he will grow into a wonderful companion and a devoted member of the family. Interested in adopting Bowser? Call or contact us.

About Bowser

What life with Bowser looks like

Bowser is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at SARA Ann Prosser Foundation in United Kingdom.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bowser, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bowser?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SARA Ann Prosser Foundation handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bowser on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bowser if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SARA Ann Prosser Foundation will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bowser already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bowser isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SARA Ann Prosser Foundation early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bowser and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
