Adopt Boyce

Mixed Breed · Male

Boyce is a handsome boy looking for a loving new home due to a change in his family’s circumstances. A friendly, affectionate and fun-loving young dog, Boyce enjoys being around people and has lived happily with children aged 8 and 10. He can be a little lively and excitable at times, so any children in his new home should be confident around a bouncy adolescent dog. Boyce has never shown any aggression and has never growled, snapped or bitten. He is well-behaved when visiting both the groomers and the vets, and loves all the attention he receives there. He is fully house-trained and will let you know when he needs to go outside. Boyce is also crate trained and can be left alone for a couple of hours without any issues. On walks, Boyce is generally good on the lead once he has settled down. He has met other dogs while out and about without showing any aggression, although he has not lived with another dog before. Therefore he could live with another dog, subject to successful meetings. We do not have any information on how he would be with cats or other animals. He needs work on his recall and will need to remain on lead or in secure areas while his training continues. As with many young dogs, Boyce is still learning his manners. He can jump up when excited, but he is not mouthy. His one mischievous habit is chewing any shoes or footwear left within reach, so his new family will need to be prepared to keep their shoes tidied away! Boyce is a loving, happy youngster with lots of potential. With continued training, exercise and guidance, he is sure to make a wonderful companion for the right family. A home experienced with young, energetic dogs would help Boyce thrive as he continues to mature into adulthood. Please don’t leave him waiting in kennels and apply today. About Boyce

What life with Boyce looks like

Boyce is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Warrington Animal Welfare in Warrington.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Boyce, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Boyce?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Warrington Animal Welfare handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Boyce on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Boyce if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Warrington Animal Welfare will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Boyce already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Boyce isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Warrington Animal Welfare early rather than rehoming privately; they know Boyce and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
