Bradley

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 7 months

* for an explanation, please read Why we are cautious about placing our dogs with families with young children. Information: In January and again in March 2026, some of our team members visited Elisa's animal shelter in Romania for a week, with which we work closely. We spend time on socialization and getting to know the pups and adult dogs as best as possible. Only the dogs that we expect will be happy in the Netherlands - and their adopters with the dog - are matched by us. Pup Bradley certainly belongs to that group! This puppy comes from a litter of 5 pups. Besides Bradley, there are also Zorro, Buddy, Bibi and Dolly. In January these pups were very open, free and people-oriented, as pups should be. Bibi and Zorro were a bit more dominant, while Buddy, Bradley and Dolly behaved more reserved - but certainly not really scared. In March Bradley has become more reserved/uncertain. 😞 Pups also go through fear phases, it may play a role. But the lack of contact with people is definitely a factor too. In the animal shelter where around 300 dogs are staying, there is simply not enough human staff to regularly give the dogs attention. It's such a shame when pups who stay longer in the animal shelter become more uncertain as a result...

About Bradley

What life with Bradley looks like

Bradley is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Straydogs Rescue Nederland in RC Nieuwe Pekela.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bradley, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bradley?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Straydogs Rescue Nederland handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bradley on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bradley if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Straydogs Rescue Nederland will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bradley already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bradley isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Straydogs Rescue Nederland early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bradley and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
