Bradley

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 6 months

The character Bradley is an incredibly sweet, gentle, and sensitive puppy. With his soft gaze and a heart-shaped marking on his coat, he’s a dog who longs for nothing more than to belong and be loved. Because of his sensitivity and insecurity, he needs time, patience, and plenty of space to dare to feel like he truly belongs. He forms a strong bond with his trusted human(s) and thoroughly enjoys attention, cuddles, and spending time together. Regularly, he seeks connection by snuggling close to you and paying close attention to you even when you’re outside. Bradley is very calm for a puppy—though part of that calmness seems to stem from his cautious, wait-and-see nature. As he starts feeling safer, he gradually reveals more of his playful and curious side. Yet even then, once he’s settled in, he remains calm and relaxed ("chill"). He learns quickly and loves to do his best to get things right. With positive guidance, his self-confidence grows a little more each day. Bradley is a true friend to all animals. He adores dogs and cats—and even the chickens! He loves their company and is especially affectionate and sociable with each of them. Household behavior: Once settled in, Bradley becomes a quiet, super-relaxed housemate. He reminds us of a “gentle giant”—a big, friendly giant—but in a much smaller size. He doesn’t cause any destruction, hardly ever barks, and can easily entertain himself with a toy or stuffed animal. He loves going in and out of the garden, regularly seeks contact with the other animals, and also enjoys sleeping nice and close to his foster mother. He’s affectionate without being intrusive and easily divides his attention between his humans and the animals in the home. Bradley is already potty-trained when he spends lots of time outdoors in the garden. When that’s not possible for a while, he uses a pee pad. At his foster home, he can also stay alone at home for short periods—though always accompanied by other animals. When he feels lonely, he may sometimes whimper softly. In a new home, Bradley will first need to feel safe and secure before starting any training for staying home alone.

About Bradley

What life with Bradley looks like

Bradley is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Straydogs Rescue Nederland in RC Nieuwe Pekela.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bradley, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bradley?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Straydogs Rescue Nederland handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bradley on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bradley if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Straydogs Rescue Nederland will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bradley already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bradley isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Straydogs Rescue Nederland early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bradley and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
