Brigid

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 6 months

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Brigid has found her people! Her story: Brigid is a sporty and beautiful, young female dog. She is only about 6 months old and lives with her sisters, Carlotta and Scarlett, in the overcrowded Public Shelter in Baia Mare. Brigit suffers greatly from the boredom and loneliness in the enclosure and would love to run and play on green fields and let the wind blow in her face. She longs for a better future with loving people who will take her in and give her a wonderful home. Brigid is an incredibly friendly, cuddly, and active little mouse who will eagerly be stroked and cuddled once her trust is won. She loves playing with her sisters, but even more, she loves people. In a stable environment with patient people, she will develop into a particularly affectionate and sporty family dog. She is still so young and will quickly learn the whole dog 1×1, because she always wants to do everything right and please the people. With a shoulder height of currently about 50 cm, Brigid is a slender, medium-sized female dog. She has soft, light brown fur with white markings, a very charming facial marking, and shiny, black button eyes. Her athletic figure and noble face give her a particularly appealing appearance. At the moment, Brigid is simply a wonderful and sweet, young female dog. But her puberty will not be far off, and this is also a time for dogs when the foundations for the rest of their life are set. Therefore, we recommend Brigit’s new people to work with a positively working dog training class. Patient and loving training will strengthen the bond to their trusted people and keep the active, young female dog physically and mentally challenged. Through regular contact with fellow animals and many positive experiences with their people, Brigid will quickly develop into a happy and reliable companion. We wish Brigid loving, active, and sporty adopters who are looking forward to spending a lot of time with her, fostering her growth and challenges, and staying by her side forever. A loving foster home could also be a great start for Brigid on the path to a better life.

About Brigid

What life with Brigid looks like

Brigid is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Brigid, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Brigid?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Brigid on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Brigid if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Brigid already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Brigid isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Brigid and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
