Brösel &#8211

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Brösel is a former shelter dog and is currently staying with a foster home because her former owner passed away. Unfortunately, she cannot stay there and is urgently in need of a new home. Brösel is very friendly, people-oriented, open, and trusting. Despite her partially dominant nature with other animals, she prefers to spend her time alone as a single dog. She does not get along with cats. Brösel needs people who can give her lots of love and affection. She would be ideal for an older person, an older couple, but less so for young children. She is vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for rehoming. If you are interested in our dogs and would like to meet her uncommitted, please apply using the button below, and we will get in touch with you as soon as possible. We appreciate your understanding if the processing of your inquiry takes a little longer. We strive to give a response as soon as possible, but it may happen that we receive many inquiries at once or that our resources are temporarily needed elsewhere.

DE·Show original

About Brösel &#8211

What life with Brösel &#8211 looks like

Brösel &#8211 is a small adult mixed breed cat waiting at Tierschutzbund Basel Regional.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Brösel &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Brösel &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzbund Basel Regional handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Brösel &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Brösel &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzbund Basel Regional will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Brösel &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Brösel &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzbund Basel Regional early rather than rehoming privately; they know Brösel &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
