Brownie

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel · Male

Brownie is a 3½-year-old Cavachon looking for a new home due to a change in his family's circumstances. He has been with his family since he was just three months old and is described as a friendly, affectionate and playful dog who loves being around people and being included in everyday family life. Brownie has grown up with childre. He is used to a busy family home and, according to his owner, has always been gentle and friendly with the children. He is also sociable with other dogs and enjoys meeting and spending time with them. Brownie hasn't lived with cats, so his suitability for a home with a cat is unknown. Brownie is house trained and lead trained and enjoys going for walks. He is also comfortable being left at home for reasonable periods. His family occasionally leave him for between 3 and 6 hours and monitor him on a camera, where he is generally relaxed and settled until they return. His owner reports no known behavioural concerns or history of aggression. Brownie enjoys attention, walks, playtime and, most of all, spending time with his people. A little about Brownie Sociable with other dogs Can be left alone for reasonable periods No known medical conditions No regular medication Please note: Brownie is being advertised as a private owner rehome and is not currently in the care of Last Hope Animal Charity. The information regarding his temperament and behaviour has been provided by his current owner. Last Hope has not independently assessed Brownie. Applications received through Last Hope will be forwarded to Brownie's owner, who will deal directly with potential adopters regarding meetings and the final decision about his new home.

About Brownie

What life with Brownie looks like

Brownie is a small adult cavalier king charles spaniel dog waiting at PetMatch Ireland in Ireland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇮🇪Adopting from Ireland

Irish shelters require a home check (often phone or video) and an adoption contract. Animals are vaccinated, chipped, and registered. Cross-border placements to mainland Europe require the rabies titer test (TRACES system).

Frequently asked

Adopting Brownie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Brownie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. PetMatch Ireland handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Brownie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Brownie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — PetMatch Ireland will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Brownie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Brownie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with PetMatch Ireland early rather than rehoming privately; they know Brownie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
