Adopt PIXIE & SPIKE

Husky · Male · Senior · 9 years

These two marvellous Huskies are still waiting for their new home through no fault of their own. Pixie is 9 years old and she is best friends with Spike, he's 11 years old so we would like to rehome them together as a pair and not stress them at this stage in their lives. These two dogs are very friendly, mature and laid back, they can live with dog savvy children but we don't know how they are with cats. We'd love if they could find their new home soon so they can settle in and start the next adventure in their lives together. If you can offer Spike & Pixie their new home, please get in touch with us via private message.

About PIXIE & SPIKE

What life with PIXIE & SPIKE looks like

PIXIE & SPIKE is a medium-sized senior husky dog waiting at PetMatch Ireland in Ireland.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇮🇪Adopting from Ireland

Irish shelters require a home check (often phone or video) and an adoption contract. Animals are vaccinated, chipped, and registered. Cross-border placements to mainland Europe require the rabies titer test (TRACES system).

Frequently asked

Adopting PIXIE & SPIKE, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about PIXIE & SPIKE?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. PetMatch Ireland handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw PIXIE & SPIKE on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt PIXIE & SPIKE if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — PetMatch Ireland will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is PIXIE & SPIKE already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if PIXIE & SPIKE isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with PetMatch Ireland early rather than rehoming privately; they know PIXIE & SPIKE and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
