Brownie

European Shorthair · Male · Kitten · 3 months

My story: Brownie was found one morning at the opening of a partner veterinarian clinic with his littermates, they were confined in a cardboard box. My personality: Brownie is an adorable kitten who simply needs a little time to adapt to show his true personality. A bit reserved when discovering a new environment, he quickly gains confidence. In just a few days, he transforms into a real love bug who comes to seek cuddles and moments of tenderness all by himself. As soon as the petting starts, the purring engine kicks in. Once at ease, Brownie becomes a very close companion to humans, always ready to share a moment of intimacy. He is also a big player! He loves running up the stairs, climbing on furniture to observe what’s happening, and inventing games with whatever he finds. A simple ball of paper often suffices for his happiness. He enjoys playing games with his littermates and with his humans equally. Brownie is part of a rather talkative litter and willingly participates in conversations when everyone decides to make their voices heard. On the gourmet front, he likes both dry kibble and wet food, which he always enjoys with pleasure. When it’s time to rest, Brownie loves to sleep in the bed, in the company of his humans or the house cat. He is clean and uses his litter box perfectly. Likes / Dislikes: Agreements:• OK cats • OK dogs (with a small period of adaptation) • OK children Very attached to feline company, Brownie loves being with other cats. The presence of a feline companion in his future home would be strongly desired for his balance and well-being. He does not crave the outdoors and seems perfectly happy with an indoor life.

About Brownie

What life with Brownie looks like

Brownie is a puppy/kitten european shorthair cat waiting at APAA Trégrom in France.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Brownie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Brownie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. APAA Trégrom handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Brownie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Brownie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — APAA Trégrom will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Brownie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Brownie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with APAA Trégrom early rather than rehoming privately; they know Brownie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
