Bruno

Husky · Male · Senior · 8 years

Meet Bruno, a fun-loving, intelligent boy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. This handsome lad loves spending time with the people he knows and trusts, whether that's heading out for a walk, enjoying enrichment or simply relaxing by your side.Bruno is a clever dog who thrives on training and enjoys learning new skills, especially when treats are involved. He's highly food motivated and has been making fantastic progress with his impulse control and "leave" training. He has lovely manners with people, settles quickly and has been great with handling, including veterinary examinations. Bruno walks nicely on lead, enjoys exploring and loves getting out and about with his favourite humans.Bruno is a big fan of toys and enrichment, but he can become overexcited around high-value items and has shown some resource guarding. He has made excellent progress with our behaviour team, and his new family will need to continue his positive training and carefully manage toys while he settles into home life.Bruno is looking for an adult-only home with experienced owners who can continue building his confidence and training. He will need to be the only pet and, due to his previous behaviour, and cannot live with cats. Bruno needs a secure garden that will give him the space to relax and enjoy life safely. If you're looking for a bright, active companion with plenty of love to give, Bruno could be the perfect match. With patience, consistency and understanding, he'll reward his new family with endless loyalty, fun and companionship.

About Bruno

What life with Bruno looks like

Bruno is a large senior husky dog waiting at RSPCA Cornwall Branch in Saint Columb.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bruno, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bruno?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA Cornwall Branch handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bruno on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bruno if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — RSPCA Cornwall Branch will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bruno already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bruno isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA Cornwall Branch early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bruno and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
