Bruno

Staffordshire Bull Terrier · Male · Young · 1 year

Bruno is a gorgeous 1-year-old crossbreed who has all the energy and enthusiasm you would expect from a young lad still discovering the world. He is gentle, friendly, and bouncy, and absolutely loves people and dogs alike. His foster carers say that he is a sweet and bouncy boy who loves nothing more than a good park adventure before coming home for a well-earned snuggle on the couch. Bruno is great fun to take out for a walk. he loves exploring parks and open spaces, sniffing out every scent along the way, and is always delighted when he gets to say hello to a dog or a friendly passer-by. Back home he is equally happy throwing his toys around for himself, having zoomies in the garden with a ball or frisbee, or settling down for a chew. He is a clever boy who already knows several cues including sit, lie down, and drop it, and for a young lad still finding his feet he is already fully housetrained which is no small thing! Bruno is still very much a puppy at heart who is learning about the world and working hard on his manners, and the right family will find him an incredibly rewarding dog to grow with. He will need a secure garden of his own and a family who can be around with him while he gradually gets used to time alone. Bruno would be happiest as the only pet where cats are concerned, but could share his home with a calm dog who can show him the ropes. Primary school aged children and above who are comfortable around an enthusiastic young dog would suit him well. Could you be the family to help this sweet, bouncy boy flourish? About Bruno

What life with Bruno looks like

Bruno is a small young adult staffordshire bull terrier dog waiting at Dogs Trust Dundee in Dundee.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bruno, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bruno?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Dundee handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bruno on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bruno if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Dundee will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bruno already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bruno isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Dundee early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bruno and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
