Adopt Lenny Longlegs

Lurcher · Male · Puppy · 9 months

Lenny Longlegs is a loveable 8-month-old Lurcher who is growing into his long legs fast - and also into quite the character along the way! He is a big, bouncy, affectionate boy who has bags of energy and even more love to give. Do not let his size fool you though - the moment he gets his zoomies out in the garden, he is straight back onto the sofa for a cuddle. His foster carer describes him as "a very affectionate, snuggly dog who will lie across you like a big lapdog, Lenny has lots of energy but is a sprinter who gets it all out in one go. A really good, smart dog who just needs a bit of love and guidance." Lenny is great fun to walk and enjoys all kinds of routes, from woodland trails to quieter urban areas, stopping to take in the sights and smells along the way. He walks well on lead and is friendly and sociable with other dogs he meets out and about. At home he loves nothing more than a good game of fetch in the garden followed by a snooze on the couch next to his favourite person. He is clever and eager to please, already knows a few commands, and responds well to training - especially when tasty treats are involved! Lenny is still a young lad with plenty of growing up to do, so he is looking for an experienced owner who can give him the consistency and guidance he needs to keep flourishing. He will need a securely fenced garden to keep those long legs safely contained, and someone who can help him gradually build up to being left alone. Lenny would suit a home with confident secondary aged children and would like to be the only pet in the home. Could you be the family this bouncy, loveable boy has been waiting for? About Lenny Longlegs

What life with Lenny Longlegs looks like

Lenny Longlegs is a large puppy/kitten lurcher dog waiting at Dogs Trust Dundee in Dundee.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lenny Longlegs, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lenny Longlegs?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Dundee handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lenny Longlegs on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lenny Longlegs if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Dundee will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lenny Longlegs already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lenny Longlegs isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Dundee early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lenny Longlegs and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
