Buddy is a friendly and affectionate 3-year-old Lab cross Collie with a curious nature and lots of enthusiasm for getting out and about. He loves exploring new places, playing with toys and spending time with people. Once he has had a chance to investigate his surroundings, he is more than happy to come over for a fuss and will often ask for more attention. Buddy enjoys meeting other dogs and can be playful and energetic with them, although he can sometimes get a little carried away and will benefit from continuing to practise polite interactions. He can also feel worried about more formal handling, particularly around his tummy and during vet visits, so his new family will need to help him build confidence with this at his own pace. With plenty to do, ongoing training and a family who enjoys getting out and exploring, Buddy has lots to offer his new home. Buddy is looking for a home where he can enjoy plenty of opportunities to explore, play and keep his busy brain occupied. He could potentially live with another suitable dog following successful introductions, although his enthusiastic play style may be better suited to a dog who is comfortable with a more boisterous playmate. Buddy has a strong chase instinct, so he won’t be able to live with cats or other small furry pets. Buddy has been described as gentle around children and could live with dog-savvy children who understand when he needs some space, particularly around handling. He has only previously been left for around two hours and may bark for a short time before settling, so leaving time will need to be minimal initially and gradually built up once he feels comfortable in his new home.
