adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Calla has found a home! 69509 Mörlenbach. Calla can travel to her foster home by the end of April! Her story: Bistrita, Romania. Who wouldn't soften when looking into these amber eyes? The pretty Calla makes it hard not to fall in love with her. But the sweet puppy isn't just charming with her eyes. She's also playful and lively, loves to snuggle, and is simply a little ray of sunshine on four legs. By the way, she's small, and it's unlikely that Calla will grow much bigger. Currently, she measures 25-30 cm and will reach a medium size when fully grown. She gets along well with her fellow animals. Since Calla has a shortened tail, she can't be rehomed to Switzerland. Therefore, she can't be adopted to this country. Originally, the heartbreaker came from a foster home that eventually passed her on to us. Soon, Calla will enter puberty. During this time, she will test her owners' limits and challenge them. She needs someone who can stand by her during this hormone chaos and provide her with the necessary understanding and support so that she can grow into a great dog. Positive reinforcement training and loving consequences will help her navigate this time well and emerge as a strong team. For Calla would never intentionally cause you trouble. She often can't control her behavior during this tumultuous time and hopes that you will always stand behind her during this difficult time. Children living in the household should be old enough to understand the new companion and not misunderstand her. It's time to look for new friends in dog training classes and finally be allowed to "learn" something – maybe with you? She is eager to learn the dog ABC and form new friendships. Calla will be microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas in her new home. She will of course bring her EU pet passport with her. For an adoption fee of 500 Euro and only after a positive review, thank you Petra K.! You named Calla. As of April 15.

Vielen Dank Petra K.! Du hast Calla ihren Namen geschenkt. Stand: 15.04.2024

About Calla

What life with Calla looks like

Calla is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Calla, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Calla?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Calla on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Calla if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Calla already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Calla isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Calla and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
